The cleanup will focus on the city’s parks, community gardens, schoolyards and major squares, and will be followed by a cookout for volunteers at Nunziato Field. As part of the post-cleanup celebration, the city will be partnering with Groundwork Somerville to hold its second annual SomerGreen Festival, an eco-fair that features organizations and community groups promoting green practices and strategies for healthy living. This year, the cleanup also falls on the same day as the Somerville Community Growing Center's Annual Garden Day. Both the SomerGreen Festival and Garden Day will be located in and around the Community Growing Center on Vinal Ave adjacent to Nunziato Field.
