Somerville dog owners brought two matters of business to the Dog Owners Task Force at the regular meeting of the Task Force on July 8. A regular user of the off-leash recreational area OLRA at Nunziato Field said that she has been asked by many people what they can do when they witness violations of the no-more-than-three-dogs-per-person rule. The Director of Community Outreach and Liaison to the Dog Owners Task Force, Carlene Campbell, advised that people who have concerns or questions about the off-leash recreational area need to address them directly to Carlene Campbell at ccampbell@somervilema.gov or 617-625-6600 x 2615.

Another resident wanted to follow up on a report she received that, at the meeting of the Board of Aldermen Parks and Open Space (POS) Committee on June 7, in response to a claim that dogs were contracting giardia at the Nunziato OLRA, Campbell has said she would follow up with the veterinarian of the woman who made the claim. Campbell reported that the woman at the POS meeting never contacted her to give her the contact information for her veterinarian.
