Mystic River Corridor Strategy project - Public Forum

7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
City Hall, Aldermanic Chamber (second floor)
93 Highland Avenue
Somerville, MA 02143

At the first public meeting for the Lower Mystic River Corridor Strategy project on January 31, 2008 the Boston Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) collected the following comments about park users with dogs:

Parks for dogs - dog owners need a place to legally and safely exercise their dogs. If there is an area where people would like to have others around to feel safer, a dog park would definitely attract users. Dog owners should be considered in the planning of open space along the Mystic.

Please come to the meeting next week to help strengthen the commitment on the part of the MAPC and partnering communities to serving the recreational needs of people with pets!

Dog owners in Arlington, Boston (Charlestown), Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, and Somerville are especially encouraged to attend the public forum. If you walk your dog in any of the following parks, please come to the meeting to make sure that your recreational needs are represented:

  • Chelsea
    • Mary O'Malley Park
  • Everett
    • Gateway Park
    • Northern Strand Trail
