Help Write the Questionnaire for Candidates for the 2011 General Elections
10:00 am - 12:00 noon
R.S.V.P. for directions.
2011 is an election year for municipal offices of mayor, the board of aldermen, and the school committee. The general election will be held on November 8; a preliminary election will be held on September 13.
The Somerville Dog Owners Group is in the process of preparing our questionnaire for candidates (see our elected officials' responses to our 2007 questionnaire). We are primarily interested in the candidates's positions on and attitudes about open space access for people who live with dogs in Somerville (off-leash hours), but the questionnaire is an opportunity to highlight other issues in our neighborhoods that concern us as dog owners, e.g. renovating the Animal Control facility; dog-licensing fees; broken glass on sidewalks; ice melt on public ways; etc. If you would like to participate in developing our questionnaire for candidates in the 2011 municipal elections, please come to this casual meeting. If you are not available to come to the meeting, you may also e-mail us ideas for the questionnaire: Please e-mail ideas for the questionnaire before August 14.
A list of the 2011 candidates for the Somerville general elections was posted in the Somerville Patch on June 30.
