A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

It was a perfect October day for the East Somerville Neighborhood Dog Walk. The Somerville Dog Owners Group organized the Walk with Groundwork Somerville and Shape Up Somerville, in partnership with Mayor Curtatone, Alderman William Roche and School Committee Member Maureen Bastardi. Promoting community and a healthy lifetyle, the Walk followed the East Somerville Neighborhood Walking Route, a 1.2-mile loop linking the Youth & Senior Center, the East Somerville Health Clinic, East Somerville Community School, Edgerly School, Glen Park and Garden, Grace Baptist Church, St. Benedict’s Church and historical buildings. Somerville Mayor, Joe Curtatone, lead a group of over twenty people along with their canine companions in the Walk. View more pictures!
Bill Kreamer rewards Happy for a sit, before an audience of Edgar, Feargal O'Toole and Aru Manrique, Director of the Somerville Multicultural Affairs Commission. Groundwork Somerville set up a giant puzzle of the map of Somerville in the East Somerville Community School Yard.

East Somerville Main Streets, and Somerville Cares About Prevention also participated in community outreach in the East Somerville Community Schoolyard. Thanks to the Somerville Department of Public Works (DPW) for providing tables for community outreach.
