This year, Somerville's annual day of city-wide volunteerism, Spring Clean Up Day, culminated in a celebration of open space and the environment: some thirty organizations participated in the SomerGreen Festival hosted by the Somerville Community Growing Center and organized by Groundwork Somerville.

Many residents came to the festival from neighborhood clean-up projects organized by community leaders in Somerville's seven wards. The Somerville Dog Owners Group thanks all our members who participated in our neighborhood clean ups and helped out at our outreach table at the SomerGreen Festival: Frank–SomerGreen Festival; Rob–SomerGreen Festival; Justin and Lisa–Ward 6 Clean Up and SomerGreen Festival; Steve and Julie–Ward 1 Clean Up and SomerGreen Festival; Renni–Ward 7 Clean Up; Marshall (with Kate—six weeks old!)–SomerGreen Festival; and Michèle–Ward 2 Clean Up and SomerGreen Festival.
